Initially, I considered presenting my leaves in light boxes, believing that red light mediation could better preserve them against direct light in an exhibition space. I was uncertain about how the exposed leaves would behave under direct light for an extended period, such as a two-week exhibition.
I experimented with various coloured gelsĀ in the photography workshop's light boxes. The results were diverse but leaned towards a plastic or scientific aesthetic, which detracted from the leaf's natural qualities such as texture, patterns, and color (typically sepia and greenish tones).

During the solar exposure process, the leaf often turned sepia, visually reminiscent of old photography from the Victorian era.
